The Power of Jesus' Blood

The story of the first passover is a beautiful portrait of God's heart for His children.  He instructed the Israelites, in bondage to Pharaoh, to spread the blood of a lamb (a year-old male without defect) over top and sides of the doorframes of their homes so that the Lord would "pass over" them and not strike down the first born of each family as He did to the Egyptians and their livestock. The Israelites responded in obedience to God's direction and He was faithful to both keep His Word of promise and to motivate Pharaoh to set them free.  2000 years ago, our Lord Jesus Christ, found to be without guilt, shed His blood on the cross as the ultimate, spotless Passover Lamb. Those who respond in faith and apply the Lamb's blood on the doorposts of their hearts are redeemed from the bondage of sin and death today! "If the son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed." (John 8:36) But there's even more than the freedom He purchased for us!  The crowning glory of Christ's sacrifice is the power of His resurrection symbolizing the ultimate victory over evil, bondage, sin, and the prince of this world.  May we rejoice in both the power of His blood to deliver His beloved from evil as well as the provision of His Spirit that empowers us to live "as HE is," -victorious, alive, redeemed, and one with the Father!  Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!

Celebrating Serve Athens 2015

The 3rd annual ServeAthens ICN event gathered volunteers from  10 different churches at Living Hope Church in worship & prayer last Saturday, March 28th, and then sent them out to serve “In Christ’s Name” all over Athens.

One Hope Church members made repairs & operated tractors at Butterfly Dreams Farm, Prince Avenue Christian School students packaged food for the “Food for Kids” program at Food Bank of North East Georgia, and volunteers from Antioch Christian Church and Oconee County Schools worked at the Project Safe Thrift Store. Our college’s Board members and faculty even got involved, cleaning & sanitizing the facilities at Talmadge Terrace Lanier Gardens retirement community!

ACMin student, Jonathan Tarbutton formed garden beds with his team at Action Ministries’ One Community Garden and then decided to help City Church volunteers finish their lawn work project at the home of an elderly couple. “I got some poison ivy,” said Tarbutton. “But it was totally worth it. The highlight of my day was being able to bless them.” The couple offered tearful thanks & hopeful smiles to the volunteers who prayed for them into the afternoon.

See the full event recap at www.acmin.org/serve and visit our Facebook & Twitter pages for featurettes of each project being posted throughout the week!

Thank you to each of our volunteers and may God bless the work of your hands in our community! “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” – Mark 10:45

Special HEALING SHAME Course July 13-17

ACMin is passionate about helping the Body of Christ find FREEDOM from those things that would keep us from being all that we are in CHRIST!  Shame can result from things we've done in our past, things hidden in our present, or from trauma and abuse others have inflicted on us. The good news is that there is HOPE in CHRIST to be FREE from SHAME!  We are hosting a special 5-day course entitled, HEALING SHAME, July 13-17.  Led by veteran instructor Dee Pesaresi, participants in this course will learn how to replace shame with the joy of the Lord and help others do the same.  Registration is now open.  Don't miss the early-bird discount if you register before June 15th.
