The Giving Gift

The gospel is like that, you know. A gift presented before every living soul, and yet, for many, remaining unopened under God's great tree of life. At times the gift's recipients are so fascinated with the wrapping, they would rather admire the packaging than open it for themselves. But oh, the miracle of the moment when one dear soul by faith opens the Gift for themselves. Accompanied by a wild celestial celebration, this new son or daughter is welcomed into the King's own family. One who might have never known the King's great love unless the Gift had been received. "To as many as received Him, to them gave He the power to become the children of God, even to those who believe on His name." (John 1:12) So, at Christmas, we greet the Advent of our King, the God who in unparalled generosity gave Himself to all who would receive Him. It is our joy and pleasure to wish you a blessed and Merry Christmas.

Sign Up For Spring Classes!

People choose all sorts of things to appear on their Christmas list, but rarely things that will endure or bring lasting benefit to their hearts and lives. Why not ask your loved ones for the opportunity to take one or more Lifelong Ministry Program classes at the ACMin, so that you might continue to draw closer to Jesus, delve into His Word, and grow in your effectiveness as a "minister of reconciliation" to the world? Class attendees often express great delight at, not only the rich theological content of our courses, but the wonderful, intimate dynamic of the classroom itself-- a place of belonging where friendships form around the centrality of Jesus. Please follow this link to learn more about the new slate of classes offered in January at the ACMin campus, as well as those we would be blessed to bring to your church or organization through the Mobile Lifelong Ministry Program. And may the Word of God dwell in you richly...! (Col. 3:16)

New Year - New Heart / January 10, 2015

Intercessors! Prayer leaders! Saints of God! Don't miss this exciting time as we gather by faith to retune our hearts to the Lord and unite our spirits in fervent and effective prayer for the broken world around us during the second annual New Year-New Heart prayer conference.  With both times of teaching and times of prayer and reflection, New Year-New Heart participants will experience God's practical truth about how to increase their personal abiding with Jesus and how true victory emerges from a heart fully surrendered to our Lord.

God is preparing His people for an awakening in our community and nation. At New Year-New Heart this January, we will learn more about how to "set our sails" for God's work in our lives and churches--that renewing, transforming, lifegiving work that only God can accomplish. Click this link for registration and complete details.

Faculty Spotlight: Dr. David Holt

This month we are pleased to highlight the work and ministry of Dr. David Holt, pastor of Living Hope Church in Athens and one of our esteemed faculty members at the ACMin.

Why are you passionate about teaching your particular area of study through the ACMin?  I love the heart and vision of the college and want my teaching to help students experience greater intimacy with JESUS. I love teaching the class on Prayer and Spiritual Direction because it is all about intimacy with the Lord, hearing His voice, getting daily direction from Him, and learning to pray effectively.

How did you personally experience God's calling to be a part of our faculty at the college?  Like the vision of the college, my vision is to help equip people to love God and minister effectively for Him. I want to see our students "grow up" in the Lord and in ministry!

See more about David's life and ministry at www.davidholt.com, including his authorship of books for Christian growth and leadership, as well as his current work as pastor of the thriving Living Hope Church of Athens (www.livinghope.org).
