ACMin Newsletter - November 2012

Pray With Us Saturday, November 10th

In collaboration with The Awakening, One Voice, a 24-hour praise and prayer event will take place at ACMin beginning 6:00 PM on Friday, November 9th through 6:00 PM Saturday, November 10th.  We will be specifically praying over the impact of the ACMin mission and vision from Noon - 2:00 PM on Saturday, with heartfelt appreciation to Jaime Lauze, Christine Wyrtzen, and Jeremy Duggins for sharing their musical gifts during our worship. We hope you will join us for this special time of prayer and praise!

Student Spotlight - Debi Huckaby

Debi is enrolled as a graduate student in the Healing Ministry Program to study Christian counseling.  She is excited that she can undertake her studies locally, in her "back yard."  As a wife and a mom to three boys ages 15,12, and 7, Debi shares, "My classes at  ACMin have challenged me in all areas of my life.  These challenges have caused me to lay everything at His feet each and every day.  This obedience and dependence has moved my faith in ways I did not know were possible.  God is so good!  Jeremiah 29:13  says,You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." Debi and her family worship at Athens Church.

Student Spotlight - Darryl Mathis

Darryl is studying in the Christian Ministry Program at the graduate level. He was ordained as a minister by Milledge Avenue Baptist Church in 2007 where he is a member and currently serves as Chair of Deacon Ministers.  He is blessed with the opportunity to serve God and to preach from time to time. About his studies at ACMin, Darryl says, "My experience at ACMin has been great so far. I have thoroughly enjoyed Dr. Holt's Prayer and Spiritual Direction course and the learning and fellowship that takes place each week in class. Being around other students that have a heart for God and a strong desire to serve God has been a blessing to me. I am excited for what God has in store for ACMin and for the current and prospective students that are following God's call to serve."

New Year's Resolution - Invest in Your Own Christian Growth

Each semester, ACMin offers 15-week courses on topics such as Evangelism, Discipleship, World Religions & Cross-cultural Ministry, Teaching English as a Second Language, and Spiriual Warfare. We want to encourage you to consider making an investment in your own Christian growth at the start of 2013 by enrolling in one of our degree courses as an auditing student. Auditing students have the same learning experience from highly qualified professors as our degree students but do not receive college credit for course participation. Spring semester courses begin January 7th. For a complete course listing, information and registration as an audting student, click here. We'll see you in the New Year!

Support the 2012 ACMin Scholarship Goal

The ACMin Board of Trustees has made a firm committment to build a scholarship program that will honor students who answer God's call on their lives. For many of our students, earning a degree in Christian ministry is only possible through the generous support of others willing to partner with them as they prepare for a lifelong ministry journey through their studies at ACMin.

Because of your faithful gifts, the college has successfully established its scholarship fund in 2012.  In order to meet our 2012 scholarship goal, we need to raise an additional $15,000 by December 31st.  As you consider your year-end giving, we ask that you prayerfully consider how your gift can make all the difference to a student endeavoring to answer God's call.

Gifts of any amount are welcome and can be made online or by mail to PO Box 7953, Athens, GA, 30604.  You may wish to consider the following gifts:
  • Supporting one student for one course, $750
  • Supporting one student for one semester, $3750
  • Creating a named scholarship in someone's honor (contact us @ 706-769-1472)
  • Becoming a church or business ministry partner to support a designated student and receive many other ACMin discounts for your members or employees
Thank you for helping us reach our year-end goal to support students as they prepare to be difference-makers in His Kingdom.  Gifts to ACMin are tax deductible.
